A Nightmare

Saturn and Titan are laying in bed together, enjoying their company. He’s flipping through his spacebook page doing his normal updates, while Titan is doing a crossword puzzle.

Saturn nudges Titan and points, “Take a look here. Tethys just posted that she gets uncomfortable when she is standing alone in front of large groups.”

“Really? I find that hard to believe considering how much she loves to be the center of attention at gathering and parties.” she says without looking up

“I know. Amazing what kind of things a person ends up hiding from the people around them.” he pauses for a moment then turns to Titan. “Honey, I have something very important to tell you.”

She stops what she is doing and looks at him, “What is it darling?”

“Well it’s a secret that I’ve been keeping from you.”

“Is it that you are cheating on me? Because it’s kind of hard to cheat on someone who has given you the okay to see other people.” she teases him

Saturn smiles at her joke, “No, it’s more of a personal thing. And with that he reaches up to his head and pulled on his hair.

In a fraction of a second her expression went from a loving woman to that of pure shock. She gazes at a head that once was full of the thickest hair of most any man she known to that of the smoothest, and hair free that she has ever come across. It was even more hairless than that of Jupiter’s.

“Wha… what happened?!” Titan said in a panicked voice

“It happened sometime ago and so to hid it I bought a whole bunch of wigs from a guy in another solar system. I felt that I owed it to you, to finally tell you the truth. And the truth is that bald is beautiful.”

Titan sits up abruptly, screaming into the dark bedroom, as she awakes.

Saturn sits up next to her, “Honey, what’s wrong? Are you alright?”

“Oh darling, I just had a terrible dream.” she says as she catches her breath

Instinctively he holds her to his chest, comforting her, “Oh it’s alright. That dream is over and I’m here for you.”

“I know my love. It was just so shocking.” she sighs and presses into his warm body
“What was it?”

“Oh it was something silly now that I think about it.” she smiles

“Come on, tell me.” he urges her by poking her a little

“Okay. I dreamt that you were as bald as an egg. Isn’t that silly?”

He looks down at her, “Honey, don’t you remember?”

“Remember what?”

He turns on the light off to the side. Titan looks up at him and sees the light shining off of his smooth dome like a mirror.

In the darkness of her room Titan sits up suddenly in silence. She looks down at the sleeping form of Saturn. From the light coming from the window, she sees that familiar fluffy pink hair on top of his head.

She slowly reaches for the hair, but before she reaches it she stops. Titan think for a moment then shakes her head.

“You know what, I’m not going to.”  she thinks out loud before turning and going back to sleep
